1、Biodiversity Conservation
‧ Assess, where appropriate, the potential impacts of new facilities, facility expansions, and significant operational activities on ecosystems and biodiversity during the planning stage, and strive to avoid, minimize, and mitigate adverse impacts on areas of high biodiversity importance and critical habitats.
‧ Support biodiversity conservation, habitat protection and restoration, environmental education, and community engagement initiatives to promote the sustainable use of natural resources and enhance ecosystem resilience.
‧ Encourage tree planting, habitat restoration, and other Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to strengthen natural carbon sinks, enhance climate adaptation, and maintain ecosystem services.
2、Resource Efficiency and Circularity
‧ Continuously improve the efficient use of energy, water, and raw materials to reduce dependence on natural resources and minimize environmental impacts.
‧ Promote waste reduction, resource circularity, recycling, and pollution prevention to reduce impacts on ecosystems and the natural environment.
3、No Deforestation and Sustainable Supply Chains
‧ FITI recognizes the critical role of forests, ecosystems, and natural capital in climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and human well-being. We support efforts to prevent deforestation, forest degradation, and other activities that result in significant harm to nature.
‧ FITI supports the principle of No Deforestation and will continue to monitor developments related to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and other international sustainable supply chain requirements. Taking into account our business characteristics, supply chain risk profile, applicable regulations, and customer expectations, we will progressively identify, assess, and manage supply chain activities that may present risks to forests, ecosystems, and biodiversity, while continuously strengthening our management approaches.
‧ FITI encourages suppliers to uphold the principles of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and no deforestation. Where appropriate, we will strengthen supply chain sustainability through mechanisms such as the Supplier Code of Conduct, supplier questionnaires, information disclosure, and other management processes. Subject to customer requirements, regulatory developments, and supply chain risk levels, FITI will progressively establish management mechanisms related to raw material origin, traceability, legality, and risk assessment.
4、Compliance and Nature-related Risk Management
‧ Comply with applicable laws and regulations in the countries where we operate, including those relating to land rights, environmental protection, labor rights, human rights, taxation, and other relevant legal requirements, while respecting the legitimate rights and interests of local communities and Indigenous Peoples. Progressively integrate nature-related and climate-related risks into our enterprise risk management framework. Based on the scale of our operations and the maturity of our management systems, we will continue to identify, assess, and manage our nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities.
‧ Monitor developments in international biodiversity conservation, evolving regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations, and continuously review and improve our management practices.
5、Transparency and Disclosure
‧ Disclose our progress, performance, and management approach related to biodiversity, no deforestation, and nature-related matters through our Sustainability Report, corporate website, or other appropriate communication channels.
